Context

The WEkEO DIAS is a platform providing Earth Observation data for free (you only need to sign-up!). It's open to all users, regardless of their background and knowledge in science. It offers high-quality training for those who need to incorporate environmental or spatial data into their business, research, or projects and run their own algorithms using the processing capabilities of the WEkEO cloud.

When creating an account, you'll be attached to the Essential (free) plan, but WEkEO offers two other (paid) plans to benefit even more exciting features.

Let's see what each plan has to offer! πŸ’ͺ

Available plans

WEkEO's offer aims to satisfy all types of users. It comprises four plans:

  • Standard Virtual Machines (Free): this free version of the Standard Virtual Machines plan is reserved for WEkEO partners, dedicated user projects, hackathons and projects under the Innovation Lab. It allows to discover the cloud resources offered by WEkEO by launching virtual machines for example. Not all cloud features are available though, you will find more details in the dedicated documentation (cf. table below)

  • Standard Virtual Machines (Paid): extends the Essential plan capabilities by procuring additional computing resources on virtual machines in the cloud. This plan opens the doors to virtual processing environments with fast access to WEkEO data, virtual machines with GPU and also enables a direct access to Copernicus Sentinel data. The price of the plan is based on a system "Pay-as-you-use” or fixed term prices. You can check all the advantages of the Standard Virtual Machines plan

  • High Performance Virtual Machines (Paid): breaks compute limitations on individual virtual machines by procuring resources on a High Performance Computing (HPC) platform. This plan gives you access to a total of 98.560 Cores and 120 NVDIA A100 Graphic Cards, a twelve fast 200Gbps Infiniband links for data access with very low latency, high speed access to the EODC storage, including over 10PB of Copernicus data, and direct access to Copernicus Sentinel data

πŸ’‘ WEkEO Pro Tip: in order to subscribe to these plans, we invite you to read the following article to learn how to upgrade your plan.

To learn more about plans, you can refer to the corresponding documentation for information the next section. Additionally, you will find the appropriate point of contact for any inquiries or requests for a custom plan.

Documentation and contact

The documentation and point of contact to reach out the User Support depend on the subscribed plan. For any question, users with Essential plan have to contact the WEkEO User Support, while users of both paid plans have to contact two different user supports.

Here is a table summarizing where to find the matching documentation and point of contact according to your plan:
